Why Should We Study a New Language?
"Our world is becoming increasingly smaller. We interact, collaborate and exchange ideas on a global scale every day. As our economies and policies become more intertwined, our cultures are inevitably linked together too. When we learn a world language, we are able to communicate more effectively with our global partners. In turn, this allows us the opportunity to understand and participate in the cultures to which we are connected. When we learn a world language, we explore the world!"
To prepare students to be global citizens by developing an awareness and appreciation for other cultures and perspectives
To communicate in more than one language in order to be competitive in today's global marketplace
Instruction will focus on ACTFL Core Practices to include authentic resources, comprehensible input, communicative activities, and meaning BEFORE form, in order to promote increased proficiency in the target language.
