The ACCESS test, which measures English proficiency, will be administered online. This is a state mandated exam that many ELL students and other students who speak another language at home must take in January or February. Your student will be notified if they are to complete this exam. For more information about the ACCESS test please visit www.wida.us.

ELL English IThis is an English class for English language learners who have completed Intensive ELL English 2 or who have a comparable level of English language proficiency. The focus of this class is on further developing the student’s listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Vocabulary and grammar development, reading strategies, literature interpretation, and basic research techniques, as well as descriptive, narrative, persuasive, and expository writing are emphasized. Students enrolled in this class should also be enrolled in either ELL Resource. Students will receive core English credit for this class.

ELL English IIThis is an English class for English language learners who have completed English 1 for ELL students or who have a comparable level of English language proficiency. The focus of this class is on the continuing development of the student’s listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Emphasis is on vocabulary and grammar development, reading strategies, literature interpretation, advanced research techniques, and writing expository, narrative, and persuasive essays. Students enrolled in this class should also be enrolled in ELL Resource. Students will receive core English credit for this class.

ELL Resource - MainThis class provides academic support to English Language Learners to enable them to be successful in their core academic classes. Students receive assistance with the development of cognitive academic language as well as with reading and writing skills. Students receive elective credit for successful completion of this class.
